Creating better people first, better athletes second, while striving for excellence on and off the course as an example of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty to others.
Great Hearts athletes train and practice with vigor similar to their approach in their academic pursuits. Our athletic programs foster a sense of cooperation that builds community and creates the life-long friendships. Our programs also foster team spirit and encourage the celebration of accomplishments and personal growth. Through community and building relationships, athletes are held to the highest standard of integrity and sportsmanship. Great Hearts coaches should be dedicated to fostering this culture across all teams and athletes.
Arizona middle school athletes compete in the Great Hearts Middle School League (GHMSL). High School athletes compete in the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) or the Canyon Athletic Association (CAA).
Texas middle school athletes compete in the Independent School Athletic League (ISAL) or Texas Charter School Athletics and Activities League (TCSAAL). High School athletes compete in the University Interscholastic League.

HIRING PROCESS
Great Hearts hires seasonal athletic coaches on a rolling basis. Athletic Directors at each academy are largely autonomous in the hiring processes for their campuses. They discern for themselves the candidates of interest, and contact, interview, and make offers to those candidates per their own hiring timetables.
Candidates may hear from one or more Athletic Directors and/or Great Hearts staff member(s) shortly after submitting their application, or they may not hear anything for a number of months.
PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL COACHES WILL BE REQUIRED TO HAVE A FINGERPRINT CLEARANCE CARD BEFORE BEGINNING WORK.
